Positioning Computer Monitors
If you have your computer monitor at the wrong angle or positioned incorrectly it can not only become very annoying but can also cause back and neck problems. If you find you need to tilt your head to see the screen then your eyes and neck will eventually pay the consequences. If you are working at an office desk for any length of time you need to ensure that your equipment is set up properly.
There are plenty of computer accessories available to ensure that you are working safely with your monitor. For example, there are arms and shelves available to elevate a computer monitor or laptop so that it sits above the office desk or can be swivelled in both directions and tilted forwards or backwards to ensure day-to-day comfort.
To avoid wear and tear on your back you need to work in a neutral position for your head and neck. This means you need to be looking straight ahead at the screen. Keyboards should be as near to your lap as possible and any elevation will put strain on your wrists. A pull out tray in a computer desk is ideal.
Respect your body and choose the right type of office furniture.
