Office Games for the Summer

It’s that time of year again when the boss decides to take a few weeks holiday and the staff can relax and indulge in some frivolity and games while he’s away. A popular choice is office furniture Olympics and it can be quick and easy to adapt standard office furniture into a sports set up for a ten minute round of summer fun.

Office chair netball is very popular as everyone in the office can join in and no one needs to leave their seat!

Put the office desks into a circle placed around a waste paper basket. This will form the basis of your court with the bin as your goal for every player to aim for. The office desks should be equally positioned away from the goal so that no one has an unfair advantage. Players do not need to leave their desks and they should target the goal whilst seated. A good choice of ball for office chair netball is one made out of a very lightweight material so that no office furniture is damaged inadvertently.

Your office chair rules are:

• Do not throw heavy items at people’s heads
• Only under arm throwing is allowed. Any one throwing over arm will have to sit the game out.
• Appoint and independent judge for each game.
