When it comes to choosing the office décor and decorating the room, there are a few essentials you should not neglect.

Naturally, the most essential piece of office furniture is the office desk and few would argue with that.  There is such a variety of colours, styles, sizes and materials available now that you are stuck for choice.

There are even office desks which contain storage and if you are limited for space, you should look for vertical storage to take up less floor space.

Be careful if you are creating an office in the home.  Some people think it needs to be ultra professional and they do this to the point of making it stiff and uncomfortable.  The level of comfort in the home office should be pleasant enough for you to enjoy working in their office chair for up to eight hours a day and yet not relaxed too much that they will become distracted – for example, a portable television in the home office is often a bad idea!

Choose the office furniture carefully from an ergonomic perspective and cheer the work place up with a few plants, flowers, paint or wallpaper that reflects your personality and boosts your confidence.  Consider light colours to keep you feeling light-hearted and to highlight space in the room.
