Compact office furniture to get through the recession
In the current economic climate, many businesses and firms are looking to cut costs and in particular their fixed costs, such as overheads like office space. As a result many are looking to smaller premises or those with a flexible lease.
As a result, it is possible that office furniture could also be about to evolve. Although many companies still wish to remove the office cubicle of recent decades where employees have their own small office cubicle, they still wish to pay less rent and so to have a smaller office space does require compact, space saving office furniture.
The large, executive office furniture will be in demand less and less, and companies will be looking for clever ways to minimise space with as little impact on employees as possible. Already, many office furniture suppliers have seen an increase in the number and volume of sales for space saving office furniture and a decline in the larger, and also more expensive, office furniture ranges as companies seek to retain low expenses.
Rather than simply replacing existing office desks and office seating, companies are looking to make an investment in an office re-design to take advantage of this trend and ensure their business survives the recession.
