Advances in office equipment
We are all aware of the technological advances in computers and laptops, however, another area which has benefited without gaining the limelight is printer technology and other office equipment. They too are shrinking in size, and are much lighter, making them more portable and convenient for the office. No longer do printers, scanners and faxes clutter up our computer desks or office desks.
New products have emerged called multi functional devices (MFD’s) and these are often more cost and time effective than using separate printers, copies and faxes or telephones and scanners.
For the home office or corporate office, this can mean much more available office desk space and working space, which these days can be very expensive.
No longer do you have to turn round from your office chair and bump into the copier. There is not as much heat coming from one piece of office equipment than from the five former pieces of office equipment it replaced. This in turn saves electricity, keeps the noise down and hence allows wmployees to work faster and be more productive.
